Javier Diaz Martos (Spain, 1981)
Freelance photojournalist based in Galicia. I began my career in photography when, at the age of 17, my uncle and photographer John Kenneth Iversjö gave me all his analog equipment. From then I began to develop my skills using a Canon A-1 camera. Although my university education focused on advertising, I expanded my photojournalism studies at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia. Since graduation I have focused my time on social, humanitarian and anthropological issues. My photography has been recognized at festivals such as the PHE and DOCfield. I also have been published in national and international media. My approach to photography involves soaking up every story so that I can represent it from within.
